Hi Hunny!

I know you hardly ever check your facebook so I figured this would be a great place to be honest with you :) Here goes, one week from today we will know if we are having a momma's boy or daddy's girl and for some reason I know I won't be able to find the self-control to STOP buying cute baby stuff! So when things start arriving in the mail and UPS puts us on their daily route, you can't say I never told you. I know you won't let me have the credit card because you are afraid of paying the light bill for the rest of the year at Babies R' Us, but Paypal has this amazing alternative for wives, like me, in this situation. Just think how cute our baby is going to be all dressed up in cute clothes and sleeping in the cutest nursery EVER!

Busy Weekend!

For those of you who know me well, y'all know I am NOT a morning person...at all! All it took was a sale at USA Baby for me to wake up and get dressed at 6:30 AM. We decided on a crib for Beamer and I went and purchased it last weekend. I also got a rocker and ottoman. I polled moms and they all told me if they had to do it over again they would spend the money on a comfy rocker. I took the advice and got an oversized fluffy rocker that rocks, glides and reclines. I got it covered in a dark brown chenille fabric so once the nursery days are over it will fit nicely in our family room and won't look out of place. Very excited! Everything will arrive in about 8 weeks and then the room transformation will be well underway!

After shopping, I spent a few hours with Steve, Angie and Miss Addison. Angie said she would have lunch, but it was more like a feast! I felt like royalty! It was really fun catching up, getting new mom advice and laughing! Miss Addison was just the cutest and full of smiles. I even got a giggle or two out of her before I left...oh and some sweet kisses :)

I think I was home all of 5 minutes and headed back out the door to a crawfish boil for Brent's birthday! Thank goodness all I had to do was walk next door! I was pooped & an hour late. Better late than never :)

The day wouldn't have been complete without a tone out from the Fire Department. I think half of Brent's party left to go fight the fire! Brent didn't go...he was too busy winning the Skeet Shoot Jackpot...all his competition left! Haha. I am not sure if the guys liked seeing who could get there first or actually fighting the fire. Boys will be boys!

For those of you new to our life, we found out we were expecting our first child in early June 2009 and a short nine weeks later we were saying goodbye...forever. God has seen fit to bless us again, with a baby due in September.

What year are you due?

I arrived a few minutes early for an appointment, with a prospective client, this week and I started talking with a lady that was sitting there with me, while we waited for the other members of the board to arrive. This was part of our conversation:

Her: So I hear you are expecting a baby.

Me: Why...yes...yes I am.

Her: When is your baby due?

Me: September

Her: Of this year?

It is not common for me to really sit back and think about what I am going to say before I speak. For a split second I heard myself bellowing out, “No, I am due in 2012, the same gestation as a killer whale, 18 months.”

Me: Yes, this year :)

TOOTSIE ROLLS...

have to be one of my favorite sweets! I have been dying for a tootsie roll this week and have made that quite clear around my office. I got back from lunch today to find a HUGE sack of tootsie rolls on my desk. My assistant, Brittany, has earned some huge brownie points, or should I say Tootsie points today! Yummy-licious ☺

If only I knew what a tootsie roll is made of......
